Early morning at Orrison.

Pat found a friend.

Ellie-type working dog. This is for you, Patrick.
What is this?
I lost my socks this day. Fortunately, they were my 6.00 $ Canadian Tire socks and not my 26.00$ Radical Edge socks. I was distracted by a horse walking toward me and by making notes in my Nancy Drew Jotter. Anyway, my socks got left on the rock where I had eaten my lunch. Later, while walking with Jill from Australia, I related my great loss to her. She said, in her Aussie accent, "I saw a pair of socks on a rock, this morning, Barb. But they were long and ugly and dirty white."
"Well, Jill," I said in my hesitant Canadian tone, "they sound exactly like my socks. I hope someone will pick them up and bring them on to the albergue."
"Well, I don't think anyone would pick them up. They just looked so ugly. It looked like someone just took them off and discarded them. Frankly, Barb, it just looked RUDE!!"
Nobody brought me my socks.
The path has a variety of surfaces.

ReplyDeleteIn a couple of days you'll reach Puenta la Reina. If you overnight there, be sure to attend the mass. Beautiful old church.
ReplyDeleteI am there right now but it's bedtime!! We are having trouble getting accommodations along the way. The volume of pilgrims is up this year.
Deletethe pictures remind me of the book I read ' World without end" I imagine the monestary in the book looked just like your pictures.
ReplyDeleteNeat building...not a lot of privacy!
DeleteGood for you Barb. I can picture your expression explaining your dirty socks! Great pictures too. Makes us wish we there with you. Although I wouldn't have picked up your socks either!! Claudette says hi too.
ReplyDeleteYou wouldn't pick up my socks? Hello to Claudette and all, too!
ReplyDeletePat finds horses for friends and you keep finding men. Does Tom want you to come home now. Too bad about the socks but sounds like they are best left alone.
