Still trying to get a good shot of the windmills.
The medieval ruins at San Anton.
More San Anton. There is a albergue built into the ruins. Very neat.
San Anton again.
This is an alcove where bread was left for the pilgrims of yore. Contemporary pilgrims leave letters, pictures etc for their loved ones.
Landscape on the meseta.
We were surprised by this 1050 foot incline.
View from the top of the surprise incline.
I was kissed by a man today on the Camino. He first gave me a firm handshake, my preferred method of introduction, then the soft kiss on my sunburned cheek. (He was about 89 years old...my speed.)
Hi Barb,
ReplyDeleteThis is Sue and Piet (Fredericton) behind you on the camino. It is Monday 16th and we are in Belorado. Thanks for your comments on the walk into Burgos. There is less shade so clouds are welcome and the weather is beautiful. I'm using the ice cubes from my sangria to cool my toes.
Hope everyone in your group is well.
Sue
Hi Susan,
DeleteDo I know you? Since you are from Freddy, it's a good chance I do! I am in Carrion right now, having dinner with our Fredericton group of 5, as well as a Fredericton couple we met on the Camino. I hope we get to meet you!

ReplyDeleteVery impressed Barb. Sounds like you are holding up quite well. Think of you all often but just don't get the chance to check in as much.... you know how busy not working can be!
ReplyDeleteMy best to the group. Keep it up. You must be feeling some pride I'd think.
Patrick
Hi Barb and friends.
ReplyDeleteI know you are in Leon now, and will be joined by Bev. Break her in gently!
FYI, Susan and Pieter were at the June Gathering and you may well have met them there. Either way, you will have a lot in common to talk about at the October 26 Gathering. See you there, if not before.
Buen Camino to you six, and to Susan & Pieter too.
